Aarhus University (AU) was founded in 1928. It has 38.000 students; about 1.900 PhD students – of which one in four has a foreign nationality – and close to 800 postdoctoral scholars together with 8,000employees (2014). AU has four faculties which cover the entire research spectrum – basic research, applied research, strategic research, and research-based advice to the authorities. In recent years AU has been moving up the most important university ranking lists. Internationalization is a key part of the University’s mission and it continuously works to strengthen the international profile of the University through a series of initiatives which will increase international research partnerships and the number of international students.

Pia Majbritt Jensen
Prof. Pia Majbritt Jensen’s primary research interest is the role of media in transnationalization processes, which she has explored through a variety of topics, including TV drama and TV format adaptation, as well as methodologies, including media system, audience, production and industry studies. She is currently heading an eight-nation audience/industry study of Danish TV drama and its recent international success.
